As we approach The Maestro\u2019s 10th year, this moment is especially meaningful. It\u2019s a season of transition: we\u2019re celebrating the impact of board members whose service is concluding, while also welcoming new officers who will help lead The Maestro forward.<\/p>\n

Thank You to Our Term-Limited Board Members<\/h3>\n

It is with bittersweet joy that we congratulate Janell Davila<\/a> (<\/strong>Frost<\/a>)<\/strong> on completing her second year as Board Chair and concluding her board service in accordance with our term limits. Janell led with steady stewardship and a clear commitment to governance that strengthened The Maestro at a pivotal time. Her leadership helped position us for continued momentum, and I\u2019m grateful for the care and consistency she brought to the role.<\/p>\n

Janell is joined by two exceptional leaders whose terms are also concluding:<\/p>\n

Yadira Liz Medina<\/a> (<\/strong>Texas Capital<\/a>)<\/strong> Liz is an accomplished banking professional currently serving as Executive Director RM at Texas Capital Bank. Across her career, she has held key relationship and lending roles at BBVA (including BBVA Compass), supporting business clients through commercial lending and specialized financing. Liz\u2019s experience and insight into capital access, lending strategy, and relationship banking have been valuable contributions to our work. She is also an alumna of Texas A&M University<\/a>.<\/p>\n

WILL C. FERNANDEZ, CEPA\u00ae<\/a> (<\/strong>Merrill Lynch<\/a>)<\/strong> Will joined Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in 2017 after 17 years in the financial services industry. He is known for his client-centered approach\u2014listening carefully, asking the hard questions, and building strategies rooted in what clients truly want to achieve. Will holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in International Business from St. Mary’s University<\/a> and an MBA in Accounting and Finance from Regis University<\/a>. He is an active member of the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce<\/a>, serves with the A.C.T.S. team at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Selma, and\u2014when he\u2019s not working\u2014enjoys archery and time with his daughters, Faith and Hope.<\/p>\n

To Janell, Liz, and Will: thank you for your leadership, your service, and your belief in The Maestro. You helped strengthen the foundation we\u2019re building on.<\/p>\n

Recognizing the Departure of Art Clarke<\/h3>\n

We also want to recognize and thank Arthur Clarke<\/a>, who has stepped down from the board of The Maestro, effective immediately, due to increasing responsibilities in his role at DOCUmation<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Art currently serves as Vice President of Managed Technology Services at DOCUmation\u2014a major organization whose continued growth has demanded more of his time and leadership. As DOCUmation has expanded operations, opened new branches, and added staff, Art made the thoughtful decision to step aside rather than remain in a role without the level of engagement it deserves.<\/p>\n

I deeply respect Art\u2019s candor and professionalism, and I\u2019m grateful for the time he did give to The Maestro. We wish him continued success as he grows as a leader within a fast-moving and expanding organization.<\/p>\n

Announcing The Maestro Board Officers for the 2026 Term<\/h3>\n

With transition comes opportunity, and I\u2019m proud to share the Board Officer appointments selected to lead The Maestro into 2026. Their terms began on December 16, 2025 and will run through December 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Board Chair: <\/strong>Crystal Royal<\/a> (<\/strong>H-E-B<\/a>)<\/strong> Crystal serves as Supplier Diversity Manager at H-E-B, and she brings an outstanding blend of corporate leadership, entrepreneurial perspective, and community-minded impact.<\/p>\n

H-E-B has been one of The Maestro\u2019s biggest partners over the past 10 years<\/strong>\u2014supporting small businesses, helping open doors, and demonstrating what it looks like when a major company invests in the communities it serves. In that spirit, it is only fitting that the board has selected Crystal Royal to represent H-E-B in this leadership role. Crystal\u2019s work reflects the values that have made H-E-B such a meaningful partner to The Maestro, and we\u2019re honored to have her step into the role of Board Chair.<\/p>\n

Board Vice Chair: <\/strong>Kurt Robinson<\/a> (<\/strong>Robinson General Contractors, Inc.<\/a>)<\/strong> Kurt Robinson is the Owner of Robinson General Contractors, Inc., bringing deep experience in construction leadership and project execution across commercial and institutional work. Kurt is known for practical problem-solving, operational discipline, and a strong commitment to delivering results\u2014strengths that will serve The Maestro well as we continue to grow and mature.<\/p>\n

Board Treasurer: <\/strong>Carlos Camacho<\/a> (<\/strong>Bank of America<\/a>)<\/strong> Carlos Camacho serves as SVP, Business Banking Market Executive at Bank of America, helping lead small business banking strategy and relationships across our region. Carlos brings a strong mix of business banking expertise and community-minded leadership, along with a thoughtful approach to stewardship\u2014an ideal fit for the Treasurer role as The Maestro continues to strengthen its long-term sustainability.<\/p>\n

Board Secretary: Pending confirmation<\/strong> We will share an update soon as this role is finalized and confirmed.<\/p>\n

Looking Ahead<\/h3>\n

Transitions like these are a reminder that The Maestro is bigger than any one person\u2014and that our strength comes from leaders who are willing to serve with integrity, step forward when called, and step aside when necessary.<\/p>\n

To our departing board members: thank you. To our incoming officers: welcome\u2014and thank you for leading.<\/p>\n
